After a bit of troubleshooting it seems my tv is officially dead. I'm blaming it on a power surge caused by the faulty wiring in my condo which neither the owner (I'm renting) nor the building want to take responsibility for.
Anyway, this tale begins now. I"m going to use this as an experiment to see how long I can go without a TV at home. Today officially marks Day 2.
Day 1 was Monday.
We got home at about 9:30pm tonight, which was a good thing. It was a long day, I was exhausted. The baby as almost to the point of falling asleep. We got home and played for awhile while my wife worked on some listings she had to research (she's a real estate agent in Toronto for those who are home buying or selling). We finally went to the bedroom to fall asleep around 11:30pm but we weren't tired. The boy and I ended up watching part of Toy Story until he fell asleep. My wife started cleaning the house, doing the dishes, the routine nightly chores. The boy fell asleep around midnight, at which point I started playing my video podcasts. I ended up falling asleep watching Diggnation.
Looking back, it was nice to play with the boy without the TV on, but even when the TV did work, I would have it on but I was playing with the boy the whole time. I never focused on TV until he was in the process of falling asleep.
Day 2 is today, we'll see how that goes.
